Privacy Policy

How War of the Generals handles your information.

Effective October 17, 2026

01Overview

War of the Generals is operated by Sienna Logic LLC. This policy covers generalsgame.com, the game servers behind it, and any app we publish under the same name. Information is stored and processed in the United States.

02Information we collect

If you create an account, we collect your email address, the callsign you choose, and your sign-in details. If you sign in through a sign-in provider, we receive your email address and an identifier for your account with that provider, but never your password for it.

We also collect formations you save, the display name you play under, records of the games you play, including moves and results, and messages you send us, including through our contact form. Information about your device and browser, and about how the site is used, is collected automatically.

You can play without an account. Your preferences are kept in your own browser.

03How we use information

We use information to run the game and your account, match you with opponents, save and replay games, let the AI learn how you set up your pieces, keep play fair, protect the Service from abuse, respond to messages, fix problems, and understand how the Service is used so we can improve it. Our analytics are not linked to your account. We don’t sell your personal information or use it for advertising.

04How we share information

We share information with service providers that help us run War of the Generals, including providers for hosting and storage, sign-in, spam protection, fonts, and analytics, and only as needed to operate the Service.

When you play someone online, they see your callsign or display name, and both of you can replay the game afterwards. Either of you can share the replay with a link, which shows both callsigns to anyone who opens it. When you beat the AI while signed in, your callsign and best results can appear on the public AI records board.

We may also disclose information when needed to comply with law, enforce our Terms, protect the Service or its players, or investigate abuse or fraud. If we sell or transfer our business, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

05Cookies and local storage

We use your browser’s local storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and save your progress, and a short-lived cookie while you sign in through a provider. Our analytics also use local storage to tell a returning visitor from a new one. You can clear these in your browser settings; doing so signs you out and erases that progress.

06Data retention and deletion

We keep account information while your account is open. You can delete your account at any time from your Service Record page, which deletes your account, callsign, email address, saved formations, AI records, and the setups the AI remembers. Games you played against other people are a shared record that both players can replay. We may delete older games after a period of time, unless a player saves one. If you delete your account, they are unlinked from it. Some information may remain in backups or logs for a period of time, or where we are required to keep it by law.

07Your choices

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your information by emailing [email protected]. You can also delete your account yourself from your Service Record page.

08Children

War of the Generals is for adults 18 and over. If you believe someone under 18 has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

09Security

We use reasonable measures to protect information, but no system is completely secure.

10Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version here and change the date above.
